Knitter's Addiction has found some of the softest, smoothest sari silk yarn around. The purchase of each skein helps a local community in Nepal where we get our sari silk yarn hand spun for us. The local women there use the leftover silk from weaving mills and spin the fibres into this amazing yarn. We have the "traditional" multi-coloured skeins as well as a kaleidoscope of single shade colours. All have some great variations making each skein slightly unique with its own charm. This yarn can be used alone or stranded alongside another yarn. You may find there are some slight differences in thickness due to hand spinning. Each skein is 100g and is approximately 110-120 yards (100-110 metres). This yarn is very versatile and is knitted and crocheted on larger needles and hooks. We find that sizes 5mm to 7mm (crochet hook sizes H and larger) work the best.
